Back of Beyond will teach you a large variety of scenarios
and the skills needed to be safe on the water. Practice braces, leans,
T-rescues, wet exits & re-entries, underwater exits, self rescues, and
paddle floats all in the comfortable warmth and safety of the pool.
This class is critical for our regional cold waters.

Advanced Rescue Techniques

Interested in learning more about rescues and rolls?
Participants will practice the Cowboy, several different variations ofOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
re-entry and roll-up, towing, learn how to use a rescue sling,
and be introduced to the kayak roll. Taught by Back of Beyond in
the comfortable warmth and safety of the pool.

Women’s Kayaking Series

Taught by Back of Beyond’s very friendly and encouraging female instructorsOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
this series of classes focuses on building your kayak handling confidence
and skills. After a detailed introduction, you’ll learn skills paddling
Eagle Harbor day one, move to the pool the second day to practice rescue
techniques, and then wrap up the last day paddling Bainbridge’s coastal waters. This is an excellent opportunity to get into kayaking and meet other
female paddlers around the island.

and spend the morning paddling Eagle Harbor in our most accessible class
geared towards beginners and families. You’ll learn the essentials to have
a safe and enjoyable day on the water. Meet at Waterfront Park. Kids FREE!
**One child, age 8 –14, free per paying adult. Adult must attend on trip

Early Release Paddling

Age 10-14. Get out of school and out on the water! We’ll be switching itOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
up between kayaking, standup paddle boarding, and canoeing. Each day
will be filled with games and learning new skills. Transportation from Sakai
provided or meet at Waterfront Park. All equipment provided.

Age 11 to adult. Get a taste of this wonderful and easy to get into new
sport. By the end of the session, you’ll be able to paddle your board in a
straight line, stop, move sideways, and do a self- rescue. All equipment,
including wet suits furnished. Kids FREE! **One child, age 11 –14, free per
paying adult. Adult must attend on trip
